Our Regular User Groups have provided the following information on their activities.

The Country Women’s Association (CWA)

The Romsey CWA meets in the Supper Room.

The repaired and restored northern fireplace in the supper room

Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of the month.  Craft meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm.  A wide variety of activities are undertaken during this time

Cowboys & Angels Dance Academy

Cowboys & Angels Dance Academy operates out of the main hall.

The group offers dance lessons in the main hall 3 nights a week during the school term. The students perform at a number of competitions during the year and an end of year concert is held.

The Romsey/Lancefield Senior Citizens’ Club

The Romsey/Lancefield Social Club operates out of the Billiards Room at the rear of the RMI.  This room has been upgraded to provide a very comfortable base for this group.

Every Monday at Social Club we have a nice lunch and if you would like to stay we play cards and also have the choice of carpet bowls. We have afternoon tea at 2.45 pm; home made cake, tea or coffee the cost for the day is $5 which includes a 1st and 2nd prize raffle ticket. If you take advantage of our Community bus it will cost you $1 each way.

There are coach trips on the 1st Wednesday of every month.  We go to great places and enjoy excellent meals wherever we go.  The full cost of the day is $40 per person. We also have raffles on the Coach and of course yummy lollies to munch on. Places we have visited include;

  • The Zoo
  • Tram-Boat trips to Williamstown
  • The Shrine of Rememberance
  • Botanical Gardens
  • Christmas in July

The Romsey/Lancefield sub-branch of the Returned Service Men’s/Women’s League (RSL)

One of the RMI’s repaired & restored WW1 Honour Rolls

The RSL utilises the front, south room.

Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month.

Once a month the RSL members meet for an evening meal in the Billiards Room.

Carol’s Line Dancing

Line dancing operates out of the main hall.

Come and get fit while having fun.
Monday mornings in the main hall;
9.00 – 9.30am – Beginners
9.30 – 10.30am – Intermediates
$7.00 per morning

Blue Light Disco

The Blue Light Disco uses the main hall, the supper room and the kitchen.

The discos are run by the Victoria Police with all profits directed to community groups who work with local youth. The disco is aimed at children from 7 yrs to 14 yrs.

The Blue Light Disco operates with assistance from local volunteers and is run twice each year.

Karen’s Zumba

Zumba is run in the main hall.

This exercise and fitness program runs during the week.
Zumba Toning – Wednesday 9.30 am to 10.30 am & Thursday 7.30 – 8.30 pm
Zumba Gold – Thursday 9.30 am to 10.30 am.

Romsey Garden Club

The Garden Club uses the RMI’s Supper Room.

During the colder, wetter months of winter when few gardens are open to visit the club organises guest speakers to address the members. A wonderful morning tea is served at the end of the meeting.

Gita Style Hatha Yoga with Camille

These classes are run in the Supper Room.

Gita style Hatha Yoga is a practice founded in mindfulness. Classes incorporate physical postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation aimed at bringing your mind, body and soul back into alignment.

The class is suitable for all ages, bodies and fitness levels and is easily customisable to suit your individual needs.

Children’s Yoga & Mindfulness with Jen

Class Times; 4.15pm – Chn aged 5 – 8, 5.15 pm Chn aged 9 – 12



Casual Users

Along with our regular user groups the RMI is home to many cause users.  We host a large number of weddings, birthday parties, school and other concerts, fund raising events for a variety of community groups, information evenings, funerals and  presentation evenings.
